Signs of maturity, or something

We have two cars. My car is, as you might expect, a messy hellhole most of the time. Occasionally it gets cleaned. It rarely gets serviced. It has done 120,000 miles and it shows.

Hels’s car is more of a "family car" and features the following accessories:

I feel thoroughly middle aged.

Excellent idea, the roof box I mean. Especially when they go through that “wailing all the damn time” phase… bung them in the roof box, turn the stereo up… genius.

Do you have the winnie-the-pooh sunshades yet?

We have the sun shades with the cat faces on them (as we don’t approve of "new Pooh" and only like "classic Pooh"), but so far I’ve managed to keep them hidden in the boot. As the warmer weather comes, I guess we’ll have to apply them to the window.

Ha! The words of the innocent. I too despised “new Pooh” and all it stands for but now I find three years later that it has insidiously infected our lives. We even have the videos, the quality of some of which is enough to make you want to gouge your eyes out with a spoon. It starts with classic pooh and then goes down hill from there.

Don’t get me started on our promise never to dress Alex in pink…
